Concordia Station is the fourth permanent, all-year research station on the Antarctic Plateau Dome C. It is located 1100 km inland from the French research station at Dumont d'Urville.
With winter temperatures down to -70°C or even less, with the long polar days and nights, and with a local atmosphere extremely dry and stable, it appears with increasing confidence that Dome C is the best place on Earth for future Astronomy.
